Josh is the lead developer of the Stage 1 and Stage 2 Monster Truck Mod for BeamNG.drive.
Born in 1983, Josh had the opportunity to experience the early years and rapid growth of monster trucks. He developed a love for the sport after seeing monster trucks for the first time at a young age.
His first venture into modding came through the iconic Monster Truck Madness 2, commonly known as MTM2. He began by learning how to create truck skins using Paint Shop Pro 7 before taking on the challenges of BinEdit, a program used to edit and create 3D models for the game. Most, if not all, of his work from that era was never released because he did not have a reliable internet connection.
During the long drought of editable monster truck games—and with a computer unable to run Rigs of Rods—Josh focused on improving his painting and design skills in games such as Dirt Track Racing, Dirt Track Racing: Sprint Cars, and Dirt Track Racing 2.
Years later, Josh became involved with the Farming Simulator community, where he began creating 3D models for the game. He also worked alongside well-known mod developer FDR on forestry equipment and content for Farming Simulator 17.
Josh eventually came full circle when he discovered BeamNG.drive and the Beam Monsters development team. After joining the team in 2019, he contributed numerous truck bodies and parts that helped improve the main CRD mod while also developing his own content pack, Bobcat Creations.
After several years, Josh stepped back from his role as an active Beam Monsters developer and began building the Beam Motorsports Development Team. After receiving permission from Tommy to take over the original Leafer mod, Josh shifted his focus toward completely rebuilding and expanding the Stage 1 and Stage 2 Monster Truck Mod.
In addition to serving as lead developer, Josh wears many hats within Beam Motorsports. His work includes 3D modeling, track creation, truck skin design, graphic design, event coordination, and the continued development of the team’s monster truck projects.
Jon is the lead replicator for the Stage 1 and Stage 2 Monster Truck Mod for BeamNG.drive, bringing monster trucks from the 1980s and 1990s back to life in virtual form.
Born in 1984, Jon developed an early interest in monster trucks and tractor pulling, watching broadcasts and attending events staged by TNT Motorsports, USA Motorsports, the USHRA, the NTPA, and various other promotions.
Jon has been involved in the monster truck modding community since 1999, starting his journey in Monster Truck Madness 2. He started with truck and track development, learning the intricacies of programs such as BinEdit, Traxx, and Paint Shop Pro7.
Later in 1999, Jon founded the first online monster truck racing series, the Internet Monster Truck Racing Association, laying the foundation for organized virtual competition at a time when the drag racing community was still in its infancy. This groundbreaking achievement helped establish a lasting tradition of online monster truck racing that continues to influence the community today.
Starting in 2002, Jon has been involved in the monster truck industry, eventually starting the construction of his own truck in 2012. Life events would force the cancellation of that build, initiating his return to the virtual monster truck world, bringing valuable real-world insight into the realm.
After years of playing BeamNG.drive offline, Jon entered the Beam-Monsters community in 2020, leading to the release of the RRDesigns replica pack in 2021 with a subsequent update in 2022. Jon partnered with Josh McClung in 2022 to recreate the monster trucks from their childhood, which has been Jon’s focus since.
To date, Jon has created more than 200 replica and custom monster trucks, earning a reputation for exceptional craftsmanship, historical accuracy, and attention to detail. His work has allowed fans to experience legendary trucks from every era while introducing original creations that have become favorites in their own right.
Beyond vehicle creation, Jon has designed dozens of monster truck racing tracks, often taking a unique approach to course layout that stretch to the limit of reality. These venues have challenged drivers and helped foster a thriving competitive environment.
Aside from being the lead replicator, Jon led the development of the Beam-Motorsports Rulebook and is the competition director for the Community Clash series, track developer, graphic designer and continued contributor to the development of Beam-Motorsports projects.
Still trying to figure out how he lucked into his position within Beam Motorsports. Born in 1985, he was raised in an automotive family. His father, a 50-year master mechanic, would take him to every junkyard, monster truck show, drag racing event, and tractor pull within a three-hour trip. A two-tour Combat Veteran with the 101st Airborne Division during Operation Iraqi Freedom and obtained the rank of Sergeant, he learned the discipline and leadership skills that would set the rest of his life. A father to three children taught him patience.
Passionate about the things that drove his childhood, he found BeamNG.Drive in 2022 and found the leafer monster truck in 2023. Never modifying a game ever, he began the process of learning how to make videos and began planning to do a series, tragedy would strike and his father would pass away before he got to show him his creation. The driver of his monster truck, Quicksilver, would be named in his honor, Don.
Not afraid to turn a wrench or learn something, his dedication is to making Beam Motorsports the go-to for the Golden Era monster trucks. A guy that can do most things, from building tracks, to lending a helping hand in getting the leafer monster truck in fighting shape, to creating videos to not only shine a light on the hard work put in by a large group of guys that made the leafer monster truck, but the time in his life that was simpler, when monster trucks were all he could think of.
From laying on the living rug playing with his Matchbox Superchargers to commentating on Retro Revolution and Retro Rampage, this is where he belongs.
Born in 1995, Austin’s lifelong passion for motorsports began long before he ever turned a wrench or strapped into a truck. Raised on the roar of engines and the smell of race fuel, he spent his childhood attending monster truck shows with his parents—first at the iconic Pontiac Silverdome and later at Ford Field in Detroit. Those early experiences cemented a love for racing that would shape every chapter of his life.
By high school, Austin’s dedication to motorsports outweighed everything else. He stepped away from football to focus on automotive technology, eventually founding the Brighton High School Drag Club, where he served as president until graduating in 2013. His drive to learn and compete led him to the University of Northwestern Ohio, earning an Associate of Applied Science in Automotive & High Performance Technologies.
While studying at UNOH, Austin rediscovered his passion for monster trucks and began volunteering at local fair shows. His first event—the 2016 4-Wheel Jamboree at the Allen County Fairgrounds in Lima, Ohio—ignited a deeper determination to break into the industry. That determination paid off when he landed a position with FELD Entertainment in Palmetto, Florida, working as a Fleet Technician for Monster Jam. Maintaining world‑famous trucks and traveling with the tour gave him hands‑on experience few ever achieve.
During his time with Monster Jam, Austin also became a respected figure in the digital monster truck community. With the help of Mike Bev, he launched the SpencePack on BeamMonsters for BeamNG.drive—an early contribution that helped shape the game’s monster truck scene. Even with a demanding schedule working on real trucks, he stayed connected with friends and creators in the community.
In March 2020, everyone was let go due to the Pandemic. Though the setback was heavy, Austin refused to step away from the industry he loved. Instead, he helped created The Throttle Out Show, an unapologetic behind‑the‑scenes look at the monster truck world when the cameras weren’t rolling. The show’s authenticity caught the attention of a new team owner in Minnesota, giving Austin the opportunity to return to real monster trucks—this time working with legendary names like USA‑1.
His time around the original USA‑1 trucks allowed him to contribute extensively to the development of the Leafer Mod, providing rare reference photos and historical insight. Even while competing, Austin made time for the friends he’d made online, eventually helping form Beam Motorsports, a group dedicated to true competition and nostalgia‑driven virtual racing.
In 2024, Austin left the Minnesota team and returned home to Michigan. Today, his involvement in the monster truck world continues through two parallel passions:
growing Beam Motorsports into a powerhouse of vintage virtual monster truck racing, and NOW building a real monster truck of his own.
From the Silverdome stands to the Monster Jam fleet shop, from digital modding to real‑world competition, Austin’s career reflects a lifelong commitment to motorsports—both on the track and online.

While he may not have grown up with an interest in Monster Trucks, I think he saw it on TV once, since becoming friends with Ben he has learned quite a bit about the industry. What he brings to Beam Motorsports is an enthusiasm for talking about Monster Trucks and a perfectionist attitude. His way of preparing for a show is second to none and he is what drives the conversations on Retro Revolution and Retro Rampage. Oh, yeah, and every now and then he races too.
